I am thrilled to announce the official opening of my in-studio gallery, named after our house, Rivenrock, this coming Saturday (June 21) and Sunday (June 22) from 1-4 pm at 5472 Hydaway Place, Halfmoon Bay, BC V0N 1Y2. The gallery will not be a retail outlet, but will be open for several special events each year, by invitation, or by appointment. As well, it will be part of the Art Crawl on the Sunshine Coast each fall (October 17-19 in 2014). I am excited to welcome the many new friends and neighbours we've made here on the coast in our first year, and to show all of you my initial response to this beautiful landscape. Refreshments and special offers will be available on both days--hope to see many of you!

I live on British Columbia, Canada’s beautiful Sunshine Coast. I work in soft pastels, acrylics, oils, watercolours, and mixed media. My usual style is best described as ‘naturalism,’ which seeks to represent how the human eye and brain perceive the world—with occasional side trips into abstract and contemporary approaches! I am inspired by, and hope that my work will help viewers to see, the beauty in the everyday world.

I have studied with many excellent Canadian and American artists, and hope to have integrated their teachings into my own distinctive style.

I am a Master Pastelist within (and former President of) the Pastel Artists Canada, and a member of the (former) Landing Artists Collective, the Coast Cultural Alliance, and an Exhibiting Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. I am on the Purple Banner Tour, and the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl.
